Degree Programme in International Business | blended studies

The International Business programme offers a holistic business understanding and competencies needed in the changing global and digital business environment. Studies include close co-operation with businesses.

The studies are in Haaga-Helia’s truly international environment in Helsinki and in one’s chosen exchange destinations abroad, where networks are built, and cultural intelligence is gained. The personal development is supported by student-centered learning methods that allow students to develop a professional mindset for a lifelong career anywhere in the world. Upon graduation, students have the skills to manage business ethically, responsibly and sustainably.

The specialisation Major and Minor studies offered are:

• Accounting and Finance
• International Business Communication
• People Management
• Marketing and Sales
• Supply Chain Management

The specialisation studies consist of a minimum of 30 ECTS in Major and up to 40 ECTS of Major/Minor courses. Personal study path can be tailored flexibly as the Major/Minor courses complementing the Major can be chosen from different specialisations and other Haaga-Helia degrees. Additionally, thesis is written in the field of the specialisation Major.

A variety of language studies are offered in the degree. The degree offers excellent opportunities for networking and benefiting from cross-cultural collaboration. All students are encouraged to include exchange studies or a work placement abroad in their degree; a requirement of students with a Finnish educational background in the full-time degree.

The degree is offered either as full-time or blended studies. The full-time studies are taught mainly on campus in the daytime. The blended studies are implemented partially on campus (2-3 evenings weekly) and partially online, and are intended for students with prior work experience. The whole degree cannot be completed online.
